The Witnesses is a sandbox game across one week — twenty-eight scenes, morning to night, Monday to Sunday. Nine traditions are written — Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism, Daoism, Zoroastrianism and Zen — and five of them sit at the table in any given week, chosen fresh each time. Every act you take is read by those five at once, each quoting its own scripture with a checkable citation. Five ledgers are kept separately and never summed. Each hour is scored in one tradition's musical mode, and every tradition has a day mode and a night mode.
